The Oval is a bespoke oval-shaped LED billboard designed for LetsAd Media — a complete departure from conventional rectangular outdoor advertising. Installed across three of Dubai's highest-footfall locations — near the Museum of the Future, the entrance to Dubai Mall, and Business Bay — the structure needed to combine architectural presence with high-impact digital display technology in a market saturated with standard rectangular formats.
Developed entirely in 3D before a single structure was built, the brief called for a display format bold enough to stand out in Dubai's dense OOH landscape while remaining buildable to real-world engineering standards — a striking visual concept that could also survive contact with structural, planning, and regulatory realities.
Design development moved from early hand sketches through detailed 3D wireframes, refining the oval's proportions and how the LED surface would wrap around its architectural form. Full 3D visualisation followed — day and night lighting studies and close-up detail renders — to pressure-test the concept before committing to production drawings.
The original concept underwent a technical refinement phase to meet Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) installation and production specifications — translating creative ambition into a structure that could be engineered, approved, and built to precise real-world standards. The result stands installed across all three sites, from initial sketch to finished structure.
The Oval was published by LetsAd Media as a landmark case study in Dubai's evolving OOH advertising landscape — recognised for its innovation in combining architectural design with digital display technology.
